Slack + Smart AI Workspace
Slack is where I put the human in human-in-the-loop — the important steps show up in a channel with approve, edit, or skip, instead of running invisibly.
How I use Slack
Slack is where I put the human in human-in-the-loop. Instead of automations running invisibly and people finding out later, the important steps show up in a channel: here's what happened, here's what I'm about to do, approve or edit or skip.
I build with a scoped Slack app — a bot token, the minimum scopes, interactive buttons and modals for approvals, and threaded updates so a channel doesn't turn into noise. Notifications are written by Claude so they read like a colleague's summary, not a raw payload dump.
It also works as a front door: slash commands and mentions can kick off workflows, look something up in your CRM or database, or ask an agent to draft something.
Slackis rarely the whole system — it's one connected piece of a workflow I scope, build, and run end to end. See how I build automation or read what AI automation actually costs in 2026. Curious what your manual version costs today? Estimate it with the ROI calculator.
What I automate with Slack
- Approval gates — post an action for review with Approve / Edit / Skip buttons before it runs
- Written alerts when a workflow completes, fails, or needs a decision
- Slash commands and mentions that trigger workflows or query your systems
- Daily and weekly digests summarised by Claude from CRM, database, and pipeline data
Example workflows I build
Outbound approval queue
AI-drafted emails and messages post to a channel as they're generated. A rep clicks Approve to send, Edit to tweak in a modal, or Skip. Every decision is logged back to the CRM.
Ops exception channel
When a workflow hits something it can't handle — a failed payment sync, an ambiguous document, a low-confidence classification — it posts the context and its best guess to an exceptions channel for a person to resolve, then continues.
Ask-the-data command
A `/pipeline` command returns a Claude-written summary of deal movement this week; `/lookup acme` pulls the account's open items from CRM and support into one message.
